changes and goals

So out of fear, I've sort of let this blog become more of a promotional blog than anything else. Mainly due to my lack of a website. Originally I had hoped to get my website completed after Thanksgiving of 2009, but to be honest, I feel like I may be jumping the gun. Yes, dance is my passion and profession, but I am not ready to teach group classes yet. I simply don't have a unique product to offer, yet, stylistically. That being the case, it may not be worth it to put up a site.

My hope for 2010 is that the prosperity and encouragement I experienced in '09 will continue. More paid gigs would be awesome, too =p

One of my goals for '10 is to hone in on creating a dance/choreographic style that feels right for me. Given that, I'll be focusing on tribal and tribal fusion styles pretty heavily during the coming months. I'm also very interested in folkloric dance, and will for sure be continuing my study in Romany dance. Perhaps down the line, given the time and money, I'll be able to add to that with some Egyptian or North African Folkloric, and ideally, Eastern European folkloric dance.

Most likely I'll be taking some time off from Oriental dance. While I love doing it, it's ultimately not what I want to perform.
